CCS Technology Chosen by Pirelli;
System Is Superior to Electrostatic Precipitators, Fume Venturi Scrubbers, and Diffusion Candles
for Collection of Submicron Particulate

Pirelli Cables and Systems chose Tri-Mer's Cloud Chamber Scrubber for efficient, effective
control of submicron particulate (silica dioxide) from a  fiber optic manufacturing process.

The CCS system simultaneously scrubs chlorine and hydrochloric acid gases. 
CCS is a superior alternative to venturi scrubbers, diffusion candles, and electrostatic
precipitators for submicron particulate control.  Particulate from 0.1 microns to 300 microns
is collected at efficiencies of 99.99%.

Pirelli purchased a pilot unit, and subsequently, two additional systems.   The CCS systems
require less than 1" of pressure drop per stage under full load operation.  By contrast,
Venturi systems typically require 40" to 70" of pressure drop; diffusion candles typically
require 16" to 20" of pressure drop.  This factor is a major contributor to Cloud Chamber's
very low operating costs. 

The Pirelli CCS units systems have a polypropylene outer shell,
with internal components of Hastelloy.
